Why Ariti?
A welcome, inspired by the Odyssey
Our name comes from Arete, the queen of the Phaeacians in Homer’s Odyssey. Her household welcomed Odysseus on his journey home. We liked the idea of a place where a traveller could rest and feel welcome.
When Odysseus asks for help, Arete listens to his story. Before the night is over, she makes sure he has a bed to rest in. Here in Galatás, we hope you’ll find a place to settle in, spend time together and enjoy your visit to Crete.
You can arrive by plane. No epic voyage required.
Ariti began as Mrs. Poimenidou’s vision for a home among the olive trees. Mrs. Tiganus helped shape its colours and decoration around that vision. The villa first welcomed guests in 2014, and the house still has those personal touches today.
